Color mixing is just one aspect of printing skills, yet it can reflect the abilities and qualities required of an excellent practitioner: one must be sensitive to color changes and be patient in repeated calibration; one relies not only on accumulated experience but also on physical stamina. What WorldSkills honed is far more than just color mixing. The printing media technology project assesses the ability of the entire process - from pre-press plate making to post-press processing. The contestants have to "carry" a production line alone. This kind of professional knowledge reserve and practical ability of the entire process honed through the competition is precisely what the printing industry needs most at present. What enterprises lack is not just workers who can press buttons, but skilled talents who understand how the front end and back end are connected and can independently judge and solve problems.
